Auditions for the Pittsburgh Savoyards

The Pittsburgh Savoyards are pleased to announce that their next Production will be Gilbert & Sullivans' The Sorcerer
The Music Director and Conductor for The Sorcerer will be Guy Russo.

 

Stage and Vocal Auditions for The Sorcerer will be scheduled soon. Auditions will be held at the Catherine Thomas Theater at the St. Benedict Center in Ross Township.

 


You will be seen in the order that you arrive; first come, first seen. Please come early, Auditions will conclude when there is no one waiting.

Prepare a song that best showcases your range: either Gilbert & Sullivan (preferred) standard musical theater, or classical.

Please bring a head shot and resume, if you have one.

An accompanist will be provided (please, no "a cappella" selections).

Please sign and fill out both sides/pages of this PDF Audition Form (SORCERER revision2005v3) in advance, if your computer has Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5 or higher, or another compatible PDF document reader. Paper copies will be available for you to fill out at the auditions, if you cannot open or download this electronic copy.  Please plan your time accordingly, if you need to fill out the form at the auditions.  Forms should be available at least 20 minutes before the official call time for Auditions, assuming our officers and staff are not greatly delayed by other things, like traffic. Please note: contact information for all cast members will be available to the cast & crew for production purposes. You must provide current contact information.

You may be asked to read an excerpt from the script and/or participate in some movement exercises.

• Performance days are (Fri/Sat 8:00 p.m., Sun 2:30 p.m.)
• Music Rehearsals are Usually Wednesday 7:30 p.m.
• Stage rehearsals vary, but typically are Sunday (all), Monday/Tuesday (leads)

*When we say "open auditions," we mean it! Everyone must audition, whether you are interested in a lead or chorus role. No roles are pre-cast. New faces (and long time friends) are always welcome!
