  James Critchfield Is a Pittsburgh native and has lived, studied and worked as a professional Theater educator, director, and performer in the area for most of his life. Mr. Critchfield holds degrees in Theater Arts/Acting and Children's Theater in Elementary Education from Point Park College. His Savoyards directing credits include: "Amahl and the Night Visitors," "Gianni Schicci," "H.M.S. Pinafore," "The Telephone," "The Sorcerer," and "Trial By Jury." His Savoyards performance credits date back to the 1983 production of "Pirates" when he played Samuel. G & S roles include: The Pirate King in "The Pirates of Penzance," Captain Corcoran & Dick Deadeye in "H.M.S. Pinafore," The Mikado in "The Mikado," Strephon in "Iolanthe," Dr. Daly in "The Sorcerer," and the Counsel for the Plaintiff in "Trial By Jury." James has performed for most all of the major Pittsburgh-based arts organizations -- Civil Light Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, Pittsburgh Symphony, City Theater at Hartwood Acres, Pittsburgh Playhouse, Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre, The Children's Museum, Saltworks, John Holt Productions, and Pittsburgh Musical Theater/Gargaro Productions. Mr. Critchfield is very proud of his local heritage and plans to raise his son, Matthew, and continue his multifaceted career in the city he loves, Pittsburgh.
