Garth has worked with many theater companies both in the technical areas and as an actor/singer. He was in charge of building the sets for many of the Savoyards’ recent productions, including the recent & very successful The Gondoliers which he also produced, and was seen in Ruddigore, The Pirates of Penzance and briefly in the fall 2000 fundraiser. He also spent a great deal of time working with the Director of "Iolanthe" 2001, Glen Z. Gress, at the now closed theatre group, The Acting Company, and greatly enjoyed the chance to work together again.  Glen passed away in late winter/early spring of 2003.

Since January of 2002, Garth has been the Technical Director of Canterbury Dinner Theatre in McKees Rocks.

Garth is now happily married to Janette Patterson-Schafer.
