John is a Pittsburgh native and graduate of Duquesne University with a Bachelors of Music degree. He has been a member of The Pittsburgh Opera chorus since 1983 and has sung in over 30 productions. He has been a soloist in the Pittsburgh area for 20 years. John has been a member of The Pittsburgh Savoyards since 1991. He has served as a performer, Board of Trustee and Production manager for the Savoyards . He has performed many lead roles such as in Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors as King Melchior, Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury, Iolanthe, H.M.S. Pinafore, The Mikado and Rudigore. John is currently a soloist at the Central Presbyterian Church in McKeesport. When he is not singing, John runs his own pool service and maintenance company, The Pool Guyz. He is married to fellow Savoyard, Jean Henderson-Shulick and has a daughter, Jodi.
