Seeking Corporate Sponsors for Upcoming 83rd Season

The Pittsburgh Savoyards are seeking support from companies with a presence in the greater Pittsburgh area. Various levels are available to sponsor specific events and live performances during our upcoming 2020-2021 season. Companies that become sponsors will receive marketing exposure to our fans and patrons via various methods. The minimum commitment for participation starts at $250. Examples of sponsorship benefits – depending upon the level – include company name recognition in printed promotional materials and online, verbal mention and signage at live shows and events, and signage at our building space in Bellevue. Some commitment levels also include reserved seating at special events with the public! All corporate sponsors will receive courtesy show tickets. Please contact Laura Gudenburr, Patrons Chair, at grants.administrator@PittsburghSavoyards.org for more information about this opportunity. Limited spots are available.

Thank You, From the Bottom of Our Hearts

We want to thank all of the Mikado ticket holders for watching our shows remotely. With the closing of the Public Library System, 2 1/2 hours before opening night, we lost the ability to stage public performances of our two week show run that we have been working diligently on for the past six months. We were lucky to be able to livestream and record two shows for our audiences to view in the comfort of their own places. We are thankful for the Carnegie Carnegie Music Hall for allowing us to do this and our wonderful video engineers Alan & Chris who made it all possible. Thank you patrons!!! We love that you are supporting us in our time of need.

We apologize for anyone who was inconvenienced by our abrupt cancelation. We tried to notify our patrons as fast and as best as we could, but in the scramble that ensued after we received the notice, inevitably some patrons were not made aware in time. This crisis has been a learning process, however, and we will be better experienced in the future to ensure that as many people receive notice in time as possible.

If you would like to continue to support us by purchasing a ticket to view our live stream recordings or by making any size of donation you can, we would of course be eternally grateful. We can only continue to provide you with merriment with the direct support of you, our patrons. With your support, we plan on performing 19th century comic operas for years to come!

Hail Poetry!

COVID-19 Update

UPDATE: We are offering the ability for any patron to view recordings of our two live streams for a limited time. Click here for more information.

Due to circumstances out of our control with the closing of the library system, the Saturday, March 14 performance of the Mikado will be webcast only.

All other live performances are cancelled.

In lieu of the other scheduled live performances, we are offering ticket holders the opportunity to view an online recording of either the Friday, March 13 cast performance or the Saturday, March 14 cast performance.

Patrons who have not yet purchased tickets but would still like an opportunity to see the show can support the company by buying tickets online; purchasers will receive an email containing a unique, private link to the recording of the selected performance.

– – –

This evening is opening night of The Mikado. The Pittsburgh Savoyards have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation and recommendations from the CDC very closely. After much deliberation, our production of The Mikado will proceed as planned.

Together with the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall, we are taking recommended precautions to help minimize the spread and impact of the virus. These precautions include additional cleaning procedures at each show and requiring staff and volunteers who are ill or may have been exposed to the virus to stay home.

We ask audience members to observe the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control, which include frequent hand washing, covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, and refraining from coming to the theater if you are unwell, have been in contact with someone who is unwell, or have reason to believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19.

We will offer a live internet streaming option for patrons who do not feel comfortable coming to the theater. In addition, we will be opening our balcony for all shows, and ask that patrons who do decide to see the show in person allow extra seats between other patrons to avoid close proximity. Ticket holders may request access to our live stream by sending confirmation of ticket purchase to information@pittsburghsavoyards.org.

Out of an abundance of caution, we will not have our traditional post-show food reception on opening night.

If circumstances change as we continue to monitor the situation day by day, we will post additional updates here.
